As a proud GenXer, I adore everything 80’s related. Back then, my style was preppy all the way. Not much has changed since I’ve become 50, though I mix and match a little bit to find my perfect preppy styles.

Now I find coastal, neutral, and preppy all part of my mature style. Being a curvy woman makes it hard to find the perfect fit for my body type, as there are fewer options for curvy women, but I’ve found these great styles to add to my fall wardrobe this year.

Coastal Grandma is everything you might think of for a relaxing day on the beach. But you can create this style for yourself. Think of casual linens, cashmere sweaters, and a good pair of Keds, and you’ve got yourself a great wardrobe full of fun coastal wear.

Casual Neutrals work in any situation. The neutral palette can take you from day to night and anywhere in between. If you really want to jazz up your neutrals, pair a bright accessory with your tans, greys, and whites.

Preppy aesthetics remind me of polo shirts, deck shoes, and tight ankle pants. However, for a bit of whimsy, try overalls and tied front tops to make the grade.
