Spring 2023 Inclusive Fashion Trends Report
Spring has officially sprung for 2023 and for may of us who love the warmer weather, this is an exciting time! I personally come out of the winter months feeling SO ready for something new and excited for all possibilities. The cold weather and having to bundle up just to take my dog out for a quick walk feels often miserable.
However, now that it is spring, many of us are turning to our spring cleaning and that may include the closet! Looking at what I wore last spring, many of my items felt a little dated. If you’re feeling the same, you’re in the right place.
Check out exactly what is trending for this spring season to start refreshing your wardrobe and your outlook on your closet! If you’re looking for a more comprehensive trend report for the entire 2023 year, you can check out our inclusive fashion trends report 2023 here, including overall themes for the year like re-using and re-styling your closet and 90s minimalism.
Products
Cinched blazers
We all know a good blazer is a staple piece that will last you a lifetime. However, this spring we’re predicting a shift away from the oversized blazer that has dominated the market for some time, to a more tailored, form-fitting blazer to accentuate your curves
Denim re-imagined
This trend from our 2023 inclusive trend report is coming in hot! We’re seeing a new take on denim everywhere on the streets, from patchwork on pants to cropped and deconstructed jackets. This is one trend you’ll find all year long, tailored toward the different seasons
Maxi skirts
Another trend that has taken off quickly are maxi skirts. As we shift into spring, this is the perfect time to begin experimenting with your maxi trend skirts as the weather turns perfect for this trend.
Dresses
When you think spring, you may often think of the typical floral dress, and while floral dresses are great to wear in the spring, we’re predicting people to mix it up a bit with different dresses, especially knit dresses as many areas of the country are experiencing 6 more weeks of winter.
Colors
Shades of green
One of the most adaptable colors for spring 2023 as anyone can wear a different shade of green that is most flattering to each unique skin tone. This spring is leading more towards pastel greens and neon green, however, deep emerald green is also the perfect statement to any look
Red
A shocking addition that dominated the runway is a bold red look! Red is a powerful color and it may be intimidating to some, however from a full red power suit to maybe even a bold red lip with a look, mixing this color in is a way to turn heads on the street this spring.
Digital Lavender
Digital lavender is coming in strong for spring 2023 fashion trends. As noted our Inclusive Fashion Trend Report - Digital Lavender is the color of the year. Find inspiration within digital lavender to either mix it into your wardrobe or make it a staple piece this spring 2023.
White
A classic color we all can embrace! The purity of the color is perfect to be able to re-style multiple looks with the same pieces. While white may seem to not be a trend and more of a staple, the trend lies within all-white looks. Think pairing long white pants with a white scoop neck bodysuit and white heels. There is also a movement of pairing multiple shades of white together, one pure white and one off-white piece. Whenever in doubt, however, you will be on trend in white this spring 2023.
Accessory trends
Bags
Big totes
Some of us may get 90’s flashbacks with these, but large totes are the it-bag on the streets this spring. A large tote can compliment any look while achieving this years 90’s minimalism trend, not to mention being able to store exactly everything you need!
Trapezoid bags / angled bags
A classic fashion hack to spice up a basic look is with an oddly shaped bag. Trapezoid bags hit the runways of Milan/Paris fashion week this year for the fall/winter season, however there’s no reason not to invest in one of these oddly shaped bags early to beat the hype and be ready for both spring and fall!
Shoes
Flats
A personal favorite - comfort is taking over in fashion! Flats are inherently the most comfortable shoes you can find, between traditional flats, ballet flats, slingback or mule style flats. The options are endless when it comes to these shoes.
Small heels (but not kitten heels)
As mentioned above, comfort is key for the spring 2023 season, which means are stiletto heels are out and short heels are IN! I know you all remember the debate on whether kitten heels were cute/flattering a few years ago, but we’re not talking about these kind of heels. Think short block heels, heels with wide bases and other smaller heels that don’t put so much pressure in your feet as skinny heels do.
Jewelry
Sculpted statement earrings
There’s no better jewelry out there in my opinion than sculpted earrings. Intricate designs that show an artists creativity is a fun an unique way to elevate your look. My personal favorite place to shop for designs like these are on Etsy. A great way to support local business, as well as find high quality and unique jewelry.
Floral earrings
Since we’re ditching floral dresses this season, we’re replacing them in our jewelry! Floral earrings are a great way to lighten up a look, embrace spring and bring the fun into any look you wear.
Pearls
Not your grandma’s pearls! We’re seeing an evolution in pearl jewelry right now beyond the traditional pearl earring and necklaces. Peals have been incorporated into more delicate and inspiring designs to again, embrace creativity into a look and renew an otherwise dated jewelry item.
