These 90’s Trends Are Making A Comeback And Creating Huge Nostalgia

Imagine yourself coming home from school, logging into AOL, turning on TRL, and watching your favorite music videos. You just had the best Friday watching a movie at school on the roll-away TV, and you also got to show your best friend your new sparkly pink jelly sandals.

Some of my best memories were in the ’90s.  If you were a kid in the ’90s, you might remember going to Blockbuster and picking out your favorite movie to watch over the weekend, watching Friends, and following fashion trends from pop stars, and girly movies like Clueless.

Luckily we can bring some of the ’90s back creating so much nostalgia. We have seen some television specials highlighting the ’90s era from Pam and Tommy, as well as one of the most iconic Superbowl Half Time Shows showcasing some of the best hip-hop artists. Another way we are bringing the ’90s back is with the biggest fashion trends of the era.

’90s fashion had a range of variety from neon bright colors, floral dresses, and platform shoes, to grunge flannel. Luckily we have some of the best trends making a comeback today.

Floral Dresses

Have you seen some of the adorably cute floral dresses lately? I have seen some in a variety of colors and patterns for a plethora of different events. Wear one for a cute lunch picnic, a shopping day with your friends, or a new back-to-school look. They look great with high socks and white sneakers, or with cute sandals or booties.

Straight Leg Jeans

We cannot talk about ’90s trends without talking about light blue straight-legged jeans that all the cool people would be wearing. There have been many jean trends from the ’90s, including low-rise jeans as well, (thankfully those aren’t making a comeback), but the straight-leg jeans are back for a relaxed chill vibe.

Button Down Shirts

This is a great trend from the ‘90s making a comeback but with a more relaxed look this time. The style and look of button-downs in the ’90s was a more polished and put-together look, which was usually paired with khaki pants. Compared to now, you can wear the button-downs open with a cute crop top underneath, paired with your favorite jeans for a more athleisure relaxed style.

Bright Colors and Biker Shorts

Probably some of my favorite trends that are so fun, are bright colors and biker shorts. The bright neon colors are always so fun to wear and definitely bring back the Lisa Frank style with pretty neon colors and patterns. Biker shorts have also been a great trend by wearing the athleisure style daily. How can it not, because they are super comfortable.

Overalls

Ok, hear me out on this one. This may be something that you haven’t thought about, as a trendy style today. But really, these are still cute paired with a little white tee, and sneakers for a laid-back look. Trust me, I think they look cuter now with how you can style them, compared to the ‘90s version.

Flannels

This one I feel like has never gone out of style because who doesn’t love a good flannel? Thankfully they are still in style today, where grunge is making a come back. So now we can reminisce and feel like we are back in school matching with all our friends. We do have an updated version of the flannel with the shacket, which is like a flannel, but thicker like a jacket. Both are great if you ask me.

90’s Accessories

We are definitely bringing back the accessories from the ’90s with all the things. The tiny sunglasses that Kourtney Kardashian has been sporting, has been super popular right now. Also, we have chunky shoes, Birkenstocks, platform shoes, shoulder bags, bucket hats, and don’t forget the jaw clips; I mean how can you forget throwing your hair in a jaw clip with your two face-framing bangs in the front?

Corduroy

I loved corduroy back when I was a kid, it was super soft and such a great material. I used to have the best corduroy pants, and I must say that I am really happy about this trend coming back. Today I love seeing such cute corduroy jackets, pants, and shackets that are such great statement pieces.

Oversized clothing

If we know anything about the ’90s, everyone was wearing oversized t-shirts, sweatshirts, and jackets. Which is so comfortable if you ask me. We are seeing a lot of oversized t-shirts, jackets, and sweatshirts that are coming back. Try pairing them with cute biker shorts, or your straight-legged jeans, that will give you the best ’90s style look out there.
