5 Tall-Friendly Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas
With Thanksgiving less than 2 weeks away, you might already be thinking about what to wear. And not only what to wear, but what to wear that will actually fit your taller frame. Whether your Turkey Day plans involve staying at home, heading to a family dinner, keeping it casual with friends, or meeting the parents for the first time, I’m sharing 5 tall-friendly outfit ideas for women 5’9 or taller.
Outfit Idea #1
Personally, I’ve always kept it casual on Thanksgiving. I think your favorite pair of jeans and a chunky sweater will take you far this holiday season. Depending on the household rules, a suede ankle boot could complete your look, or a fun, yet neutral sock.
Outfit Idea #2
For a more elevated Thanksgiving look, I love a fall-colored midi dress with either ankle boots or knee-high boots. And to be quite frank, oftentimes I find dresses to be more comfortable than jeans. Especially when lots of food is involved! No undoing-the-top-button-of-your-pants here.
Outfit Idea #3
Fall is the perfect time for sweaters and sweater dresses. A cozy sweater dress, either mini or midi, will be a hit at this year's Thanksgiving party. While I’m always a fan of a block heel ankle boot, if you’re looking to stay lower to the ground, try a sleek leather riding boot or a classic chelsea boot.
Outfit Idea #4
Two words: Faux. Leather. I love the idea of faux leather pants and a classic button-up for Thanksgiving. It gives classy, chic, put-together vibes when really all it is is a shirt and pants. Bonus! Faux leather is often really stretchy, so you’re not sacrificing comfort for style. Pair this look with loafers or mules.
Outfit Idea #5
Try pairing a printed midi skirt with a classic black bodysuit and a pair of sock booties. This look gives off “I’m fun, but chic at the same time” vibes. A vibe I’m personally here for! For tall women, we can get away with a loud print because it won’t drown our height. Think leopard print, stripes, or florals.
