Choose Your Character: Fall Skirt Edition
If you know what’s in, what’s out, and what’s back in these days… props to you. But for the rest of us, it’s probably less about keeping up with the trends and more about finding our personal style within the waves of ‘cool’ that seem to move faster than we can speak.
One thing we can be sure of is a skirt trend this fall/winter season for nearly any brand of personal style.
And with that, we give you an opportunity… Choose your character (or a few), and we’ll give you the perfect skirt to rock this fall.
Devil in Denim
If you have been surprised by seeing someone in a denim skirt and thinking they actually looked super chic, you’re not alone. And you’re right! There’s something very cool and Y2K about the look.
Barbie Girl
You’ve heard it. You’ve heard it. And you’ve heard it again. Barbie core is having its moment in the sunshine, but unlike the sunshine, the trend isn’t leaving with the summer.
Here are some barbie core skirts for our barbie core girls still living in a barbie core world:
Madame Maxi
If there is one thing that can be agreed upon from the fall runways, it’s floating by on (and hopefully not tripping over) floor-length hemlines. No matter your height, there is a maxi skirt waiting to carry you on a cloud this season.
The School Girl All Grown Up
From pleats to plaid, preppy to punk, this is the trend that keeps on giving. The line between teacher’s pet and rebel is so thin here. So it’s adaptable to all sorts of personal styles.
Leather Legend
Leather-on-leather outfits are where it’s at this fall. Adding a good skirt to your bomber jacket and boots can seriously make the look.
Livin’ on A Layer
Remember how the layering-skirts-over-pants thing was kind of awesome when Ashley Tisdale did it in the early aughts? Well, runway looks and celebs alike are giving the look a comeback.
We think the secret for bringing it back this fall/winter season is wearing a skirt that’s micro-mini enough to almost look like a belt. Here are some ideas for skirts you can layer over tights, denim, or cargo pants (depending on how bold you might be feeling right now).
Cargo Queen
Aaahh the “ugly” things rebranding themselves as adorable… there’s something so fun about that! If you agree, you might want to try a cool-girl cargo skirt.
